The series “Bichos nossos, nossos bichos” employs images of African animals set in fictional Safary scenaries.  In my childhood, I learned in elementary school that these were Portuguese animals, just like the dog or the cow.  These images  aim to awake and process the feeling of loss generated by the end of the Portuguese Colonial Empire in Africa.

This project was exhibited at Espaço AC and Museu da Presidência da República/Fundação EDP, Lisbon, Reitoria da Universidade de Coimbra, Portugal, between 2005 and 2009.
