Let's just be friends

Hudson. Oil on linen , 39x39 inches, 2007.

Let's just be friends consists of a series of narrative paintings and drawings. The figures live in imaginary settings bordering the surreal. Single characters and couples strive to find meaning in adult life. In these silent images, music is often present. "Sunday Morning" - a stroller walk in Prospect Park, Brooklyn in a brisk fall morning - references the song by the Velvet Underground and Nico. In "Double Fantasy" a couple searches for domestic comfort listening to the last album by John Lennon.

This project was exhibited at the Howard Yezerski Gallery, Boston, Galeria Casa Triângulo, São Paulo, Brasil, Museu da Cidade, Lisbon Portugal, Fundação Inês de Castro, Coimbra, Portugal between 2007 and 2009.
